Get to know the Designer
Magali Plascencia
My passion for art has always been strong. I even did a college program for painting while still in high school! I graduated with from CSUF with a Bachelors of Fine Arts degree in Art. There I developed a strong foundation in understanding color theory, design principles, and much more. Many of the concepts I learned about 2D art carried over when I switched my focus into the 3D world of Interior Design.
I found a field I am passionate about. I expanded my education at FJC’s Interior Design program where I graduated with an Associate of Science, with Honors, in Interior Design. I graduated as one of the top students in my class. In addition to the degree, I obtained Interior Design Certificates in both Residential and Commercial Design. I’m self-driven, have a keen eye for detail, and have the desire to design a world that incorporates the human experience & emotion. I want people to feel happy in a well-designed space.
This industry is the perfect mix of being artistic & being great at problem-solving, which aligns well with my personality. I am committed to transforming functional spaces into aesthetically pleasing environments that could also be called works of art. I can bring a fun, yet sophisticated, combination of color, materials, and texture to transform your interiors. I currently work in an Architecture firm, where the building & construction knowledge has given me tremendous insight in how it intertwines with the design process.
Currently in a visa process to move to New Zealand.
In my non-work time, I love spending time with my husband. We love finding good food to eat! Either at restaurants or through new recipes that I will try at home. I also love weightlifting in the gym to feel strong & mobile (and singing in the car on the way back). Fun fact: I have a cute Maltese and a chinchilla as pets!
My design inspirations are currently:
CTRL Space - Auckland, NZ
Raili Clasen - CA, USA
House of Honey - South Pasadena, CA, USA
